On behalf of the dedicated staff of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, I am proud to present our official website. I hope the information provided is both useful and interesting.
It has been my privilege to serve the citizens of Franklin County as Sheriff since 1993. I have worked diligently to instill a sense of professionalism in all aspects of the Office of the Sheriff.
Within the context of a clear mission to promote public safety, my administration has implemented modern correctional management practices, which combine high security with a strong prisoner work ethic and rehabilitation component. Despite the limitations of a facility built in the late 19th century – specifically 1886 – the Franklin County Jail and House of Correction utilizes a direct supervision prisoner management system and an objective four-level inmate classification process. Prisoners are offered a wide range of vocational and rehabilitation programs, which include Residential Substance Abuse Treatment and HIV education and counseling, in addition to standard education, vocational and counseling opportunities.

Beyond the walls of the jail, my administration has built
partnerships with allied agencies and community groups to
provide services that enhance public safety and the quality
of life in Franklin County. Examples of the services
provided are: 24-hour Lock-up availability to state and
local police; a Community Service Inmate Work Program;
Juvenile Outreach Programs; TRIAD; a Community Corrections
Center with 24-hour electronic surveillance; a Federal
Prisoner Detention Program; and, a Print Shop that provides
vocational training for inmates and print services for
Franklin County towns and non-profit agencies. In sum, I am proud to say that the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has demonstrated a commitment to progress and innovation underscored by a spirit of teamwork and collaboration. I look forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Franklin County.
