All education and treatment programs and services offered to inmates and detainees at the Jail and House of Correction are provided by employees or contractors of the Human Services Division.  In addition to managing a caseload of about 200 inmates, the Human Services Division provides a comprehensive range of programs and services including:  vocational and academic education; mental health counseling; casework services; substance abuse treatment; HIV/AIDS education; inmate legal services; religious services; volunteer services and, medical services.  (It is noteworthy that the medical services unit has received full accreditation by the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare).  The handbook “Inmate Options – A Guide to Treatment Programs”, which is provided to each new admission to the facility, contains detailed information about the programs and services offered.
