D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Since 1994, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has supplemented the D.A.R.E. program throughout the county. In towns that either do not have a D.A.R.E. officer or are in need of assistance, the Sheriff’s Office has provided a complete program.
The Sheriff's I.D. Program is an ongoing picture and fingerprint program that allows parents to have up-to-date information on their children in the unfortunate event that they are lost or abducted. The Sheriff's Office provides I.D. packages to over 1,000 Franklin County families each year by maintaining a booth at the county fair, traveling to daycare centers by appointment, and collaborating with fraternal organizations, such as the Masons to offer fingerprint services to entire schools. KID ID Program
R.A.D ( Rape Aggression Defense for women) is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and risk avoidance. The course then provides basic defense training taught by certified Sheriff’s Office instructors.
KID-RAD is an educational program, the objective of which is to empower children to make positive, well-informed decisions regarding their personal safety. The curriculum encourages the partnership of children and parents.
KID RAD
T.I.P.P (Teenage Incarceration Prevention Project) is intended to server as a wake-up call for Juvenile lawbreakers, most of whom are at serious risk of actually going to prison unless they make some radical changes in their behavior and outlook on life. The T.I.P.P goal is to expose the juveniles involved to the reality of life in jail as one of the consequences of criminal conduct.
