| D.A.R.E (Drug
Abuse Resistance Education) Since 1994, the Franklin County
Sheriff’s Office has supplemented the D.A.R.E. program
throughout the county. In towns that either do not have a D.A.R.E.
officer or are in need of assistance, the Sheriff’s Office has
provided a complete program. |

The Sheriff's
I.D. Program is an ongoing picture and fingerprint program that
allows parents to have up-to-date information on their children in
the unfortunate event that they are lost or abducted. The
Sheriff's Office provides I.D. packages to over 1,000 Franklin
County families each year by maintaining a booth at the county
fair, traveling to daycare centers by appointment, and collaborating
with fraternal organizations, such as the Masons to offer
fingerprint services to entire schools.

R.A.D ( Rape Aggression Defense for women) is a
program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for
women. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive course that begins
with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and risk avoidance.
The course then provides basic defense training taught by
certified Sheriff’s Office instructors. |

KID-RAD is an
educational program, the objective of which is to empower children
to make positive, well-informed decisions regarding their personal
safety. The curriculum encourages the partnership of children and
parents.

T.I.P.P (Teenage Incarceration Prevention
Project) is intended to server as a wake-up call for Juvenile
lawbreakers, most of whom are at serious risk of actually going to
prison unless they make some radical changes in their behavior and
outlook on life. The T.I.P.P goal is to expose the juveniles
involved to the reality of life in jail as one of the consequences
of criminal conduct. |
